Terms of Service
Last updated: April 12, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using ShipLog ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
ShipLog is an AI-powered service that helps you turn Git commit history into changelogs. You connect repositories, select commit ranges, and we generate structured changelog content using third-party AI models. The Service offers Free, Pro, and Team subscription tiers with different features, usage limits, and pricing.
Free
- Limited repositories, monthly generations, and commits per generation (see our pricing page for current limits)
- Generation uses commit messages only (no file diff context)
- Public changelogs; core export options as described in-product
Pro (paid)
- Higher limits on repositories, generations, and commits per generation
- File diff context for richer changelog entries
- Private changelogs, additional export formats, custom domain, and reduced branding as described in-product
Team (paid)
- Team collaboration, higher shared usage limits, and advanced integrations (API, MCP, webhooks, and third-party sync) as described in-product
- Access to additional AI model options where enabled for your workspace
Exact limits and features may change; the in-product pricing and plan descriptions control at the time you subscribe or generate content.
3. User Accounts
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep this information up to date.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
- Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful software
- Engage in harassment, abuse, or hate speech
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without authorization
- Use the Service to process or generate content you are not authorized to access from connected repositories
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose that violates these terms or misleads end users about the origin of generated content
5. Content and Copyright
You retain all rights to your source materials (including repository metadata and code). By using the Service, you grant ShipLog a non-exclusive, worldwide license to access, process, store, and display content solely as needed to operate the Service — including generating changelogs, showing them in your dashboard, and delivering features you enable (such as exports, hosting, or integrations).
We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe your copyright has been infringed, please contact us at the email provided below with detailed information about the alleged infringement.
6. Usage Limits and Data
Paid and free plans are subject to usage limits (such as repositories, monthly generations, commits per generation, and team seats). Operations that would exceed your available limits may be blocked with an in-product message until limits reset, you upgrade, or you adjust usage.
We reserve the right to remove or restrict access to content or accounts that violate these Terms of Service or applicable laws.
7. Paid Subscriptions
Pro and Team subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy. By purchasing a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the beginning of each billing period according to the plan and billing cadence you select.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period unless otherwise stated in-product. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods except as described in our Refund Policy. See our Refund Policy for more details.
8. Paid Plan Features
Pro and Team plans include the features and limits shown at checkout and in your account. If a feature depends on a third party (for example Git hosting, AI providers, or integrations), availability may be affected by that third party.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in conduct we deem harmful to the Service or other users.
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may also request account deletion through support where available. Upon termination, your access may end and data may be deleted according to our data retention practices and in-product settings.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. AI-generated output may be inaccurate or incomplete; you are responsible for reviewing it before publication or reliance.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, we are not liable for any data loss or unauthorized access except where prohibited by law.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShipLog shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Contact Information
If you have any questions about these Terms of Service, please contact us at admin@shiplog-app.com or through support channels linked from your account.
